Advantage Media Technologies Makes Washington Spaces Cover Story
September 10, 2009 Sterling, VA - Advantage Media Technologies (AMT), a leading provider of technology solutions for residences and business in the Metropolitan Washington Area, helped on a unique green home project spotlighted in this month's Washington Spaces magazine.
Under the leadership of GreenSpur, Inc. and West Group, the CharityWorks GreenHouse is under construction in McLean, Virginia. In early 2009, Mark Turner, president of GreenSpur, reached out to AMT's founder, Gordon Nelsen, to ask for his participation on the team. "Mark and his partners had a compelling vision for what they wanted to accomplish in designing the GreenHouse," Nelsen recalls, "and we immediately jumped on board. It was easy to see that a great deal of the technology we install all the time could support the home's emphasis on carbon-neutral design."
As described in the September 2009 issue of Washington Spaces, Advantage Media Technologies installed a state-of-the-art smart home automation system for the new home, as well as a user-friendly solution for monitoring its energy efficiency. In addition, AMT selected and installed a LED television in the home's media room that uses 40 percent less power than LCD models.
